This interactive training tool shows you how to identify your patients and clients who are drinking at a risky level, and how you can offer them brief advice to help them consider their drinking.

There’s now strong scientific evidence to show that just a few minutes of brief advice can significantly reduce risky drinking and improve health.

Features:

- Josie, a practice nurse at a GP surgery explains how to use the app;
- Meet 3 of Josie’s patients, Jamal, Julie and Seema, who are all drinking at different risky levels;
- Play the interactive alcohol unit game to learn how many units of alcohol are in a typical drink;
- Complete the simple 10 question Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) on yourself, or with a hypothetical patient to learn how to calculate a person’s risk score;
- Watch Josie offer brief advice to her 3 patients, the right way and the wrong way!
- Change how each patient responds when they are told their risk score – are they motivated to change, contemplative about their drinking, or resistant to change? See how Josie modifies her advice depending on how her patients respond;
- Find other helpful web links and source of information and advice.
